Brentford Tottenham Stuns with Dominant 1-3 Victory

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first ten minutes with his 28th Premier League goal of the campaign on what could have been his final home game.

However, Bryan Mbuemo produced a magical second-half display to ensure the visitors completed a brilliant comeback that leaves Spurs’ Europa League hopes hanging by a thread.

Spurs were in total control in the opening 45 minutes but the Bees scored three second-half goals to secure yet another excellent away win and keep hopes of finishing in the top seven alive.

The Bees complete a brilliant comeback for a famous win. It was all going so well for Spurs at the break, but Brentford - particularly Mbuemo - stunned them, and Tottenham had no answer. Both can still qualify for Europe

Spurs, having switched to a back four, initially looked back to their free-flowing best and Harry Kane opened the scoring in the eighth minute, crashing home from 30 yards after Dejan Kulusevski rolled a free kick into his path and away from the wall.

Tottenham were made to pay for their wastefulness shortly after the break when Mbeumo was given time to manoeuvre between two defenders and pick his spot. It was Brentford's first shot on target and fizzed past Fraser Forster.
Mbeumo rolled another shot past Forster and into the far corner to complete the turnaround 12 minutes later, having been set free by a lovely Aaron Hickey pass.

Yoane Wissa put the cherry on top of a famous Brentford win on 88 minutes, teed up by Mbeumo after Oliver Skipp was robbed of possession deep inside the Tottenham half.


Daniel Levy has stated that Tottenham "shall spend the period ahead of next season working relentlessly to position our club for on-pitch success and football you will love to come and watch". Following a difficult season in north London

The win lifts Brentford to 56 points and while they stay ninth, hopes of European qualification remain alive. Spurs stay seventh, with 57 points, but other teams have games in hand so they no longer control their own destiny.
